Kurt Bosecke

Visual Artist

Kurt Bosecke is a visual artist whose work is known for its riotous colour, and comic and narrative style. Bosecke works mainly in paint, ink and posca, as well as ceramics and papier-mâché, to produce paintings, murals and sculptural works informed by fantasy and screen culture.

In 2017, Bosecke won the overall Bank SA Fringe Award for Best Visual Art & Design and has been a weekly finalist twice. He also received the City of Adelaide Incubator Award as part of 2020 South Australian Living Artists (SALA) Festival.

Bosecke has a substantial history of exhibiting in Adelaide – through ACE Open, FELTspace, SALA, and Wonderwalls Port Adelaide  – as well as nationally, and internationally at the 2016 George Town Festival, Def Arts in Yogyakarta (2018) and in the 2020 Asia-Pacific Triennial of Performing Arts. His work is in many private collections.

In early 2021, Bosecke formally joined The Bait Fridge, a multi-disciplinary South Australian artist collective.
