Disjunction
Disjunction is a disability-led digital platform, aiming to bring contemporary arts into dialogue with disability arts practice. Disjunction was created by Tutti Arts and officially launched on 2 August 2024.
The focus of Disjunction is on creative encounters between disabled and non-disabled artists, through collaborations, commissions, and exhibition-making. It draws on Tutti’s pilot project Reaching Out where three learning disabled and neurodivergent visual artists from Tutti’s studios worked side-by-side with non-disabled peers to artistically respond to leading cultural institutions – the Art Gallery of South Australia, South Australian Museum and Carrick Hill.
The Disjunction platform contains articles about projects, collaborations, ideas and opportunities that underline disabled and non-disabled artists working together.
Visitors to Disjunction are encouraged to engage and contribute with discussion topics like:
- What is art?
- What does it mean to be an artist?
- Who can be an artist?
Disjunction was funded by Creative Australia and Arts South Australia. Disjunction has drawn on the work of many creatives and the partnership of a number of leading institutions. Tutti would like to acknowledge and thank:
