Megan Long

Megan Long is a multidisciplinary visual artist living and creating
on Peramangk and Kaurna Country in the Adelaide Hills and through Tutti Arts
in Brighton, South Australia. Working across painting, printmaking, drawing,
and mixed media, Megan’s creative practice is grounded in her close
observations of the natural world. Birds, plants, and wildlife, particularly owls,
feature prominently in her expressive and detailed works, reflecting a deep
connection to the ecosystems surrounding her family home in Hahndorf.
A practicing artist with Tutti Arts since 2015, Megan has developed a distinctive
visual language that moves between richly patterned abstraction and bold
figurative forms. Her work is characterised by intricate linework, vibrant colour
palettes, and layered compositions, often incorporating translucent materials,
inks, and mixed media elements to create depth and texture. Influenced by
animals and natural forms, she regularly experiments with new techniques and
processes.
Megan has exhibited widely in group exhibitions, including Tutti Arts’ annual
SALA Festival exhibitions, as well as exhibitions with DAS and Dentons. Her
work has been shown in group shows at galleries including Nexus Arts, Gallery
1855, Partridge House and 6 Manton. In 2025 and 2026, she collaborated on
the project Making Space alongside artists such as Charlie Taplin, Lewis
Constantine, and Gemma Brooks, culminating in exhibitions at the Adelaide
Festival Theatre.
Her work is held in private collections, and she is currently developing her first
solo exhibition, with aspirations to expand her practice nationally and
internationally. Underpinned by a strong sense of environmental care, Megan’s
work seeks to share the beauty and complexity of the natural world through
contemporary visual storytelling, while continuing to explore opportunities in
collaboration and curatorial practice.
