Assistant Leader – Barossa Film Club

Held fortnightly on Fridays (5-7pm) in Nuriootpa, the Barossa Film Club is an established group of aspiring and enthusiastic film makers. The Club is growing.

The Barossa Film Club is currently seeking an energetic and skilled individual with a desire to encourage and assist people of all ages with a learning disability, to further develop their creative skills as film makers. This position will work collaboratively with the Film Club Leader.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enable and encourage participants to explore the medium of film as a tool for creative expression
  • Tailor activities (in dialogue with the club leader) to suit each individual participant, ensuring that they are involved and engaged
  • Assist participants with all aspects of filmmaking from story boarding to the final edit
  • Develop and maintain genuine, positive and consistent communication with participants and carers
  • Maintain complete and accurate attendance records

Experience/Qualifications:

  • DCSI Criminal History Screening for child-related employment or disability services sector employment
  • Driver’s License
  • Experience in the Disability sector, a Certificate 3 in Disability preferred
  • Expertise in Film and New Media (familiarity with both low and high tech)
  • Understanding of learning differences and emotional difficulties

Things you could be involved with include:

  • Supporting disabled artists in the Visual Arts, Design, New Media and Drama Programs
  • Supporting singers in the Club Tutti Program
  • Supporting fundraising and organising events
  • Assisting in the office and with data entry
